INFO:
Have you ever had salchipapa before? It is one of the most iconic street foods in Colombia along with other parts of South America. It is basically loaded fries that are mainly topped with hot dogs(sometimes sausage and meat). The salchipapa is then topped with lettuce, cheese, your favorite street food-specific sauces and crispy potato sticks. I made this vegan salchipapa by making some vegan substitutions and making the iconic tart sauce or salsa tartara vegan along with the mayo ketchup aka salsa rosada. I was always a lover of the street food in Colombia and having these flavors hit my tastebuds again was actually insane. This is definitely one of those super indulging dishes that hit the spot so hard after a long time. I hope you love it 💙 For the salchipapa: 1 cup of sliced vegan hot dogs 1 cup of fries, prepared your favorite way. I used frozen fries to save time Vegan cheese, measure with your heart Iceberg lettuce(non-negotiable!) Fried potato sticks or just some crunched up potato chips For the salsa tartara: 1 cup of vegan mayo 1u002F4 of a large onion or half of a mediumu002Fsmall The juice of a lime, about 2tbsp 1 small hand full of parsley, or about 1u002F4 cup 1 tsp of salt & sugar A splash of vinegar, optional & to taste For the salsa rosada(pink sauceu002Fmayo ketchup) Equal parts vegan mayo & ketchup. Adjust to taste :)
